• Formative Assessment (F.A.): It is a process used by the teacher to continuously monitor the student's progress in a non-threatening and supportive environment. It provides a platform for active involvement of students in their own learning. Formative assessment includes self-assessment sheets, student's interviews, oral test, conversation tests, quizzes, debates, projects, assignments etc.
• Summative Assessment (S.A.): It is the assessment carried out at the end of a course of instructions. It indicates and adjudges how much a student has learnt. It is used for certification purpose.
